What a self-ordering kiosk really costs in India — and when it pays back

Kiosk pricing bands, the running costs, and the honest payback maths for a QSR in Delhi NCR.

The price bands

A countertop kiosk sits in the lower band, a 32-inch floor-standing unit with a printer and payment sits in the middle, and an outdoor or drive-through rated unit is a different conversation. Payment acceptance, printer and enclosure rating drive most of the difference.

The running costs people forget

Content and menu updates, the CMS licence per screen, a UPS because Delhi power is Delhi power, and paper for the token printer. Budget for AMC from year two.

Where the money comes back

Two places. First, average order value: a kiosk asks about the drink and the upgrade every single time, and never gets shy. Second, throughput: the queue moves in parallel with the counter, so peak hour stops capping your revenue.

When a kiosk is the wrong answer

If your peak queue is under five people, if your menu needs explaining, or if your customers are not comfortable with a touchscreen. A customer display and faster billing will do more for you than a kiosk will.

How to decide in one week

Count your peak-hour walkaways for five days. Multiply by your average order value. If that number is more than a kiosk EMI, book a site survey.

Every quote is written for your counter: the configuration, the quantity and the installation are all part of the number. Send us what you sell on WhatsApp and you will have a firm, itemised quote with a GST invoice — usually the same day.
